Your audio, transcripts and summaries are stored in the European Union (AWS eu-west-1, Ireland). Vertimas is operated by a German company, so your data is governed by EU law. Some AI processing uses sub-processors under EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework — every one is disclosed on our sub-processor page.
In Germany and most of the EU, all participants must consent before a conversation is recorded (§201 StGB). Vertimas is built for consented capture: the meeting bot is a visible, named participant, announces that recording is taking place, and lets people object before capture begins. You stay responsible for obtaining consent — we give you the tooling and templates to do it properly.
We transcribe six languages — German, English, Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese — and automatically label who said what. Accuracy depends on your audio: clear recordings transcribe very well, while heavy background noise, strong accents or people talking over each other are harder. You can add names and domain-specific terms so they come out spelled correctly. Rather than quote one headline accuracy figure that rarely matches real meetings, we let you test it on your own recordings and judge accuracy for yourself — Starter includes 30 transcriptions a month to do exactly that.
No. Your content is used to deliver the product to you — transcription, summaries, search and agents — and is not used to train foundation models.
You invite it to a scheduled meeting or send it on demand. It joins Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams as a participant, names speakers from the participant list, and can email the finished summary to every attendee when the call ends.
